COVID-19

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, RHB has contributed almost RM9 million to help alleviate the negative impacts of the pandemic.

  • Under the initiative called CERDIK, a RM5 million contribution was made to purchase more than 3,600 units of laptops for primary and secondary students from the underprivileged segment. This initiative aimed at providing digital access to education for these students to enable them to adapt to online lessons, e-learning, and outside-the-classroom teaching during the pandemic. Apart from the laptops, the Group also provided 110 SIM cards to students from 33 schools nationwide.
  • RHB contributed RM440,000 (for four units of ICU ventilators) to two government hospitals to support the nation in battling the pandemic. (Articles on the “Media Coverage” page)
Contributed RM62,000 to provide 140 packed meals to 1,960 healthcare frontliners and volunteers at two vaccination centres in Malaysia over 14 days.
  • RHB organised the first-ever Virtual Ride cycling event to promote a healthy lifestyle. Through cycling for a good cause, RHB pledged RM1 for every kilometer cycled, capped at 100km per cyclist. A total of 2,000 cyclists across the nation took part and cycled 120,000km. To honour its pledge, RHB donated RM100,000 towards providing financial aid to underprivileged families impacted by the pandemic. Additionally, RHB Foundation also contributed RM100,000 to the cause.
  • RHB Cambodia contributed USD1,000 to provide medical supplies to Cambodia’s Ministry of Health in a joint effort with the Malaysian Business Chamber of Cambodia (“MBCC”) and Khmer Times, as well as 22 other Malaysian entities.
  • RHB Laos donated USD1,000 to support the Lao Against COVID-19 fundraising campaign.
  • RHB Brunei donated 100 bottles of hand sanitisers, 100 boxes of masks and packed food and drinks worth BND1,600 to three isolation centres in the Tutong district.
