Better Tomorrow
Introduced in 2018, RHB X-Cel is a holistic Academic Excellence Programme that is endorsed by the Ministry of Education. The programme is for Form 4 and Form 5 students from the underprivileged segment/low income group who have shown potential in excelling in their studies, possess good attitudes and leadership qualities.
Programme Objectives:
- Develop students into holistic individuals through educational and capability-building programmes, in addition to academic excellence programme.
- Provide equal opportunities to the students to excel academically and realise their full potential.
- Provide better opportunity to further their studies at institute of higher learning/vocational colleges, which will enable them to contribute to their families’ social and economic standing.
- Equip the youth with tools and skill sets such as financial skills and soft skills to be holistic individuals, hence increasing their employability.

Introduction of RHB X-Cel Programme in July 2018 upon approval by MOE
Identify eligible schools and eligible B40 Form 4 & Form 5 students from the schools.

Selected Form 4 & Form 5 students of participating schools will undergo
- Tuition for 5 selected core subjects
3 mandatory subjects:
- Bahasa Melayu
- English
- Mathematics
Any 2 elective subjects:
- Physics
- Additional Mathematics
- Chemistry
- Science
- Principles of Accounting
- SPM Readiness Workshop as the final preparation
- “Mapping Your Future” seminar
- Motivational sessions
- Other incentives - meal allowance, cash awards for students, cash awards for top performing teachers and schools

RHB X-Cel Star Scholarship
- Full/Partial scholarship to further their undergraduate studies at local institutions of higher learning (scholarship includes tuition fees, living allowances, book allowances, registration and medical check-up).
- Go through capability-building and nurture & development training (e.g. English proficiency, soft skills, leadership and motivational)
- Mentor-Mentee Programme
- Opportunity for internship at RHB Banking Group
- Job opportunity with RHB Banking Group

RHB X-Cel Star
RHB X-Cel Star is a scholarship programme to enable the top performers of RHB X-Cel to further
their studies in local institutions of higher learning. Students who obtained a minimum of 7As in
SPM are shortlisted and invited to attend our scholarship interview and assessment sessions.
The scholarship programme also provides capability-building training in an effort to develop the
scholars into holistic individuals and future leaders.

June 2020. 80% of our Cohort 1 scholars obtained a CGPA of 3.5 and above, with one scholar
